On March 26, 2011, Alamo Heights High School senior and point guard Eddie Moreno, Jr. was shot in a tragic road rage incident. Like any other high school senior, he was looking forward to graduation, and starting college in the fall to become a basketball coach. In an instant, his world as he knew it was forever changed. The bullet that pierced his left cheek lodged in his spinal canal at level C2/C3. Eddie is ventilator dependent and has no movement from the neck down.
The San Antonio community rallied to meet the immediate needs through fundraisers and raffles. But in contemplating Eddie's long-term needs, the house could not be 'fixed' to accommodate Eddie's wheelchair or oxygen needs, and it had to be completely renovated. Professionals, vendors, suppliers, skilled and unskilled labor, family, friends, and neighbors have all given sacrificially of their time, talent, expertise and resources. The Design Team incorporated elements of "Universal Design" so that the Moreno home is livable for everyone, especially Eddie. The Interior Edge is proud to be part of this Team! Please help us support Eddie!
